Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati returned to Niagara Region Council Chambers last night, for the inaugural meeting of the new Regional Council.
He kicked off his third term and provided the audience with a brief update on his condition; adding he only has three more treatments left for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Diodati is very hopeful for the future in the Niagara Region.
“We’ve hit the refresh button here in the region. We’ve got a lot of new faces, a lot of new blood and a lot of new ideas. I’m really confident and I have been trying to reach out to everybody here. We’ve got enough new blood and enough old blood that we can come together with the idea that we’re not really here for ourselves; we’re here for the Region. The high tide will rise all of our boats because I really believe our best days are yet to come, we just got to let it happen.”
Diodati is expected to be at the inaugural meeting for Niagara Falls City Council on Monday.
