The jobless rate in Niagara has dipped to its lowest level in nearly two decades.  Stats Can says unemployment for St. Catharines and Niagara dropped to 5.2 per cent in February.  That’s down from 5.9 per cent the month before.

Niagara’s number came in ahead of Ontario’s jobless rate of 5.5 per cent and the national rate of 5.8 per cent.

The Niagara Economic Development Office continues to work to attract investment and grow the Region’s economy.  Niagara Region says these numbers underscore initiatives from council to bolster trade and attract new investment to grow the economy.
